Bestselling author Rachel Amphlett today announced the launch of a new series of short crime stories.

Case Files: pocket-sized murder mysteries are available in eBook and print from the crime writer, whose influences include Michael Connelly, Robert Crais, Robert Ludlum and more.

The first short story in the new series, Nowhere to Run features Rachel’s popular detective Kay Hunter in her first investigation as a newly qualified investigator.

Background

“An earlier version of Nowhere to Run was the original impetus for me to develop the Kay Hunter series in early 2016. It’s fun to share a time from Kay’s early career with readers,” says Rachel.

Case Files will showcase a number of short mysteries over the course of each year and will include stories with new characters, a prospect that Rachel finds exciting.

“Having this new series of short crime stories enables me to explore new characters and different situations. Who knows what will grow out of these?” she says. “If myself and my readers fall in love with a character, then it could lead to a whole new series over time!”
